Our Editorial Mission
CoinLens was founded on a single conviction: that readers of financial and cryptocurrency media deserve content produced by independent journalists who prioritize accuracy, transparency, and genuine education — not content engineered to maximize affiliate commissions.
Our editorial team operates under a strict separation from our commercial relationships. Writers and analysts are not compensated based on which products they recommend or how highly they rate them. Their only mandate is to produce the most accurate, balanced, and useful content possible.
Review Methodology
Every exchange, coin, or protocol review published on CoinLens follows a standardized evaluation process:
1. Hands-On Testing. Reviewers open real accounts, complete KYC verification, execute actual trades, and interact with customer support. We do not publish reviews based solely on marketing materials.
2. Data Verification. All statistics (fees, trading volume, AUM, APY, etc.) are verified against primary sources — official documentation, on-chain data, or regulatory filings — before publication. We cite our sources.
3. Structured Scoring. Products are scored across five categories: Security & Trust, Fee Structure, Product Breadth, User Experience, and Regulatory Compliance. Each score is documented internally and available on request.
4. Peer Review. All review articles are read by a second editor who was not involved in the original research. This review checks for factual accuracy, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and compliance with our editorial standards.
5. Update Cycle. Reviews are re-evaluated every 6 months, or immediately upon a material change (security incident, regulatory action, major product change). Outdated information is updated or retracted.
Affiliate Disclosure & Commercial Relationships
CoinLens sustains its operations, in part, through affiliate marketing partnerships. When a reader creates an account on an exchange or purchases a product through a link on CoinLens, we may receive a financial commission from the partner.
What this means for you: - Affiliate commissions are received after publication, and never influence scores, editorial language, or which products are recommended. - The presence of an affiliate link is always disclosed. You will see a clear "Affiliate Disclosure" notice on any widget or "Where to Buy" component on the page. - We review and publish content on exchanges and protocols whether or not an affiliate relationship exists. A product does not need to compensate us to be reviewed or recommended. - Conversely, a commercial relationship does not protect a product from a negative review if it has material weaknesses.
What we do not do: - We do not accept payment for positive coverage, sponsored scores, or "featured review" placement that is not clearly labeled as sponsored. - We do not suppress negative findings in exchange for affiliate agreements or advertising revenue. - We do not allow our commercial team to see review drafts before publication.
Editorial Independence
The CoinLens editorial team operates with full independence from the commercial side of the business. Concretely, this means:
- Funding separation. Commercial revenue does not flow to editorial staff as performance bonuses tied to traffic or conversion.
- No PR influence. We do not publish press releases as news. We do not cover token launches, exchange promotions, or protocol announcements without independent verification.
- Source confidentiality. We protect the identity of sources who provide information under confidentiality.
- Corrections. If we publish incorrect information, we correct it promptly and transparently with an editor's note in the article. We do not silently delete errors.
Not Financial Advice
CoinLens is a journalism and education platform. Nothing we publish constitutes: - Personalized investment advice - A recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any specific financial instrument - Legal or tax guidance - Brokerage services
Our reviews and analysis reflect the informed opinions of our editorial team at a specific point in time. Markets change rapidly, regulatory environments evolve, and the quality of a product may change after our review date.
Readers should conduct their own independent research and consider consulting a licensed financial advisor in their jurisdiction before making any investment decision. Cryptocurrency and financial products carry significant risk, including the potential for total loss of invested capital.
Our Editorial Team
Our full-time editorial staff and contracted analysts are required to:
- Disclose all financial positions in assets they cover.
- Abstain from trading any asset under active editorial review for 72 hours before and after publication.
- Declare any direct or indirect relationship with a covered entity before beginning a review assignment.
- Adhere to this policy in full, with violations resulting in immediate removal from the relevant assignment and potential termination.
Full author bios, including disclosed holdings and credentials, are available on each author's profile page.
